The Presence Events path to advancement is quite clear. Our people know what they must achieve in order to move to the next levels, and they have the learning resources and support to do so. When it comes time to progress, we look for the following signs of promotion-readiness:
” Service to Others: We expect our team members to be ambitious, focusing intensely on their personal and career goals. It’s also important for them to perpetuate the Presence Events culture and assist the growth of their colleagues, however. When we observe someone who prioritizes others’ needs as well as his or her own, we know the person has leadership potential.
” Humility: No matter how much an individual knows, there is still much more to learn. Even the most prestigious leaders have room to develop – and people at all levels have something valuable to teach. This is why we like to see our team members asking questions, listening attentively to others, taking on challenges, and sharing credit with their peers.
” Positivity: With optimistic mind-sets, we think more about all that can go right than about all that can go wrong. By channeling our energy in a positive direction, we’re in better position to take strategic risks that pay off in big ways. Anyone who displays such an attitude deserves to be in the running for promotion.
